Join the Church

Each year the Catholic Church welcomes individuals to full membership.

For adults, joining the church is typically organized through the Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) program.

The RCIA program provides for an inquiry phase which is designed to discern one’s readiness to formally pursue joining the church.  Following the inquiry phase, the RCIA program provides formal catechesis and several rites leading up to initiation at the Easter Vigil.

Assumption parish typically considers individuals age 16 and under to be children when considering membership in the Catholic Church.  For children, membership in the church is typically organized through the Religious Education program.
