Announcements for October 12-13, 2019

  1. In the Gathering space on the TV screen are pictures of the Well project we thought we would share with you. Dominic is very proud of this project and tells us it is nearing completion.

 

  1. Sign up for our Trunk & Treat Event scheduled for Sunday, October 27th. Decorate your car trunk or just bring the little’s to enjoy a FAMILY FUN EVENT!!!  Sign-up sheets can be found underneath the crucifix in the gathering space.  Also sign-up sheets for items needed for this event.

 

  1. The Auction Committee will be in the gathering space to sell Auction Dinner tickets and the 50/50 raffle. You can also go out to the Church website and purchase your dinner tickets. 

 

  1. Please join the Knights of Columbus after both Masses THIS Sunday for a delicious Pancake and Sausage breakfast. All proceeds go to support our Assumption Youth Group.

Announcements for October 6-7, 2019

  1. Look for invitations in your mail box regarding the Fall Fundraiser that will be held Saturday, November 9th. You may purchase tickets online, or at the door.  Tickets may also be purchased after mass starting the weekend of October 12-13.  Back by popular demand, we will have the 50/50 raffle at the Auction.  Tickets may be purchased after mass next weekend as well as the night of the event.

  1. This year marks the 102nd Anniversary of the miracle of the sun. You are invited to join others in a Public Square Rosary on Saturday, October 12, at 12:00 noon in honor of Our Lady.  Assumption will pray the rosary at the outside statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary located in the Mary garden at the front of the school, weather permitting.  See the flyer posted by the bulletin tables and on the bulletin board for more information.

 

  1. Congratulations to Steve & LuAnn Small. They are the winners of the NCYC Stain Glassed Cross Quilt Raffle.  Thank you to everyone who bought a raffle ticket to support our youth going to NCYC.

Announcements for September 28-29, 2019

  1. Our parish auction will be held Saturday, November 9th.  Invitations will be in your mailbox soon. We welcome donations big and small.  Any baskets that you have put together that are received by Sunday, October 20th, will be eligible for an entry into a drawing for a free ticket to the event.  The drawing will be held after the 10:00 am Mass on Sunday, October 20th.

  1. Please join the Social Justice Committee on Wednesday, October 2 at 7pm in the Church. They have invited Jessica Maciel Hernandez to present a discussion on the topic of Immigration. Hear where the Catholic Church stands on this topic.

Announcements for September 15, 2019

  1. Our Adult Faith Bible study has begun, but it’s not too late to join us. “The Great Adventure” meets on Monday’s right after morning Mass and on Wednesday evenings at 5 & 7pm.

 

  1. Our Auction Committee is looking for donations for both the Silent and Live Auction. Please see the bulletin for more details.

 

  1. Those wishing to be a part of our RCIA program will meet right after the 10am Mass. This is your invitation to learn more about your Catholic faith and to receive the sacraments of Initiation. 

 

  1. A Baptismal Prep Class is scheduled for NEXT Sunday. This class is intended for new parents and those who have not taken the class within the last 3 years.  Call the Parish office to register.

 

  1. The Knights of Columbus will be serving a delicious Breakfast Burrito after both Sunday Masses with the NCYC kids. All proceeds will go to help their mission.  Please plan to attend!

Announcements for September 8, 2019

  1. Sunday RE classes begin THIS Sunday, September 8th if you have not signed up-please see Cathy Davidson. 2nd year Confirmation classes also begin THIS Sunday, with a mandatory parent meeting at 5pm in the Church.  If you cannot attend please contact Cathy Davidson. 

 

  1. For the protection for all attending classes we have established a one entrance system. We are in need of people willing to be our first line of defense for the students.  Please contact Paul Hauser if you would be willing to offer 1 hour and 15 minutes to protect our parish young people.

 

  1. Join the Adult Faith Bible study “The Great Adventure” starting this Monday, September 9th or Wednesday, September 11th. See the bulletin for more details.

 

  1. The Adult Book Club will be meeting on September 15th see the bulletin for more details on that as well!

  1. Religious Education classes start Wednesday, September 4th if you have not yet registered please do so NOW! Registration forms on are the Church website.  Class lists are being prepared so please get them in promptly.

 

  1. The Adult Faith Bible study “The Great Adventure” will begin September 9th. Pick up a bulletin to see further details.

 

  1. The Diocese has provided our Parish with 10 tickets to attend Bishop-elect Joensen’s ordination as Bishop and installation to the Des Moines Diocese on Friday, September 27 @ 2pm at St. Francis. We will be having a lottery drawing for those 10 tickets, please write your name and phone number on a piece of paper and drop in the lockbox located in the Gather space next to the pamphlet rack before September 3rd!  Father will be drawing those names on Wednesday, September 4th!

 

  1. The Parish Offices will be CLOSED on Monday in observance of Labor Day.

  1. Religious Education registration is happening after Mass in the gathering space. Please stop by and get signed up so we can get a feel for numbers this year.  Teachers are still needed see Cathy Davidson.

 

  1. For those of you who took the time to have your photos taken for our Parish Directory, available in the gathering space are your copies. Please check your name off of the list.  Thank you!
